Here and There

My Dearest Lady Lucinda Jane,

I am always filled with wonder upon receiving your posts! You are gifted with beautiful words.

The glorious news of the name of the expected child was received with great joy. What a wonderful name for a son! Our prayer are with your sister during her delicate situation.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful time you had with your friends at your tea. You paint a picture with words and leave us longing to be there.

And lastly, with your permission I shall hang the lovely painting of your garden in my parlour. The colours blend so well and remind me of the Queen's gardens in London.

Ever Cordial,
Lady Jocelyn Victoria Shefflield-Wimsley

  1. My Dear Lady Jocelyn,

How my heart doth sing upon receipt of your post. I have longed for a letter to arrive, and pensively, I have awaited word from the city.

To know that you are well, and that your thoughts are with me, is a joy to my soul!

I do so long to take tea again with you and with Duchess Prudence. I know the time will come when we shall be together again, whether it be at my cottage, or at your manse.

Upon my honor, it is with great delight that I am informed of my painting's new dwelling place. My dear Lady, I had only a glimmer of hope that my humble painting would suffice for perhaps a small powder room, or perhaps a humble room in the guest quarters. It is beyond my imagination that you would place my painting in such a fine room such as your parlour! I do hope that it is elegant enough for such a auspicious room. I hope I do not impose. I am delighted to know that my gardens will bring you joy, as they have me these many years.

    With love and longing,

    Lucy ~
