A Longing Heart

My Dears it has been longer than a fortnight since we've written. My heart is saddened. I do so enjoy the summer months but alas is does make it difficult for communication. So may parties, balls and summers at the lake take up so much social time that I scarce have time to keep up with my correspondence.

Please know you are in my hearts and thoughts almost daily. I pray for fall. The cool breezes and lagging times are close in my sight.

I leave you with my longing heart,
P. Darling Prescott

  1. Prudy,

The duties of the social season weigh heavily upon us all!

Mr. Wordsworth and I long for a holiday with the children. We have been pressed upon with social obligations of late.

Why, just this present week we will be summoned to a wedding which will keep us from the children for two days! We have never left the children...

I will, of course, wear my best pearls.

Until my next letter, I keep your smile close to my heart.

    Lucy
